The most dedicated tamilians who lived in Kuwait in early eighties started a forum for Tamil. Later, it was reformed in the name of our nationalistic poet Maha Kavi Bharathi as BHARATHI KALAI MANDRAM.
BKM is a Registered Organization with Indian Embassy. From beginning, it provides arts and Entertainment services to the people living in Kuwait. Though it was started with 50 members initially, it inherited 500 members interest and dedication and expanded drastically.
To Encourage Tamil Education and Respect our Tamil Literature, BKM Conducts lots of Events and Competitions for Tamil lyrics, Dramas, Songs and individual abilities.
BKM has arranged a committee of teachers to teach Tamil to all BKM members’ children at free of cost, who are interested to learn Tamil. Apart from this, every year BKM is conducting competitions for the children to bring out their individuality in the field of Tamil as well other activities and sports also. We are issuing prizes to encourage the children in the event of Bharathiyar Day. At present, about 60 children are leaning Tamil through this service.
It hosts great people like professor Sathiyaseelan, Kalaimamani Muthlingam, Kavingar Ponnadiar, KaviPerarasu Vairamuthu, Kavivender Velavendhan, Solaman Pappaiah and Kavithayini Kanimozhi. professor Sathiyaseelan, Kalaimamani Muthlingam, Kavingar Ponnadiar, KaviPerarasu Vairamuthu, Kavivender Velavendhan, Solaman Pappaiah and Kavithayini Kanimozhi, the living examples from Tamilnadu and honours them in those events.
BKM has arranged Tamil dramas with the Artists and their groups like S.V.Sekar, Gracy Mohan, Kattadi Ramamurthy, and made so many different programs with the artists like Actress Manoramma, Vasunthara, MathanPop, Kumerasan, L.R.Eswari, Kartick and Paravai Muniyyamma.
Also arranged a Mega Musical Night by ThenisaiKuyil Deva, Arjit and Susila and dance program by Mrs.Kiruthika and Mr.Kutti Dancer also.
BKM was lead by several people such as by Mr.Senthamil Arasu, Mr.Nagaphosanam, Mr.R.Varatharajan, Dr.LathaSrinivasan, Mr.VisuRamasamy & Mr.Jeevanantham and their associates.
In the year 2004 Mr.PR.S.Kumar was elected as president. Under his leadership, BKM has reached several milestones. Very popular events were organized such as Mega Musical Night Program by “Thenisai Thendral Deva”, which is a remarkable program in the Kuwait record, viewed by more than 5000 audience, conducted in Quadshia Stadium Hawaly, dance performance by Mr.Kutti, the handicapped on the year 2005, the year of Handicapped and Mega Comedy Pattimandram by professor Soloman Pappaiah & Raja and their troops in the year 2006.
Many welfare plans were announced to the BKM Members and their relatives such as:

Because of his dynamic leadership, approaches and the co-operation of his good team Mr.Pazhae Vairavan as the Vice President, Mr.Kavisei Sekar as General Secretary, Mr.N. Ramamoorthy as Treasurer and the committee and executive committee members. BKM may strengthen by 1000 members in short time by support and its energized activities.
In this occasion we are proudly announce that we are going to celebrate BKM’s Silver Jubilee with four days mega programs.
